Name: Sergio González Gutiérrez
What is your current or most recent position and/or affiliation? PhD in Limnology (zooplankton), UNAM, Mexico; looking for a postdoc position in aquatic ecology!
What are your research interests, and what is your most recent research output about? My research focuses on aquatic ecology and limnology, specifically zooplankton community dynamics, integrative taxonomy, and the ecological impact of environmental stressors in lakes. My most recent publication explores how environmental variables drive morphological changes and diversity in rotifers within high-altitude tropical ecosystems.
How did you become interested in open science, and what prompted you to join SORTEE? I joined SORTEE to advocate for transparent, reproducible data workflows and open-access methodologies in limnology, ensuring that aquatic research remains collaborative and globally accessible.
What institutional policy do you believe could improve the reliability of science? Mandating open-data repositories for all raw environmental and taxonomic datasets before publication.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I love to play chess, and I like to work out and play basketball.
